Motorcycling Groups Support Ama's 'Justice For All'

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced that a number of state and national motorcycling organizations have formally voiced their support of the AMA's "Justice for All" campaign.

Among the groups backing the goals of Justice for All are the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, ABATE of Indiana, ABATE for Missouri, ABATE of South Dakota, ABATE of Wisconsin, BikePAC of Colorado, the Connecticut Motorcycle Riders Association, and the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association.

Motorcycle Legend `Kaptain' Robbie Knievel to Jump `Above the Law' at Warnock Dodge Chrysler Jeep

Motorcycle daredevil "Kaptain" Robbie Knievel will attempt to clear 25 police cars in a jump at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 24 at Warnock Dodge Chrysler Jeep. The "Above the Law" promotion begins with an autograph session for fans on Monday, June 21 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm and culminates with Thursday's jump. Both events - which are free and open to the public - will take place at Warnock Dodge Chrysler Jeep, located at 175 Route 10 in East Hanover.

The House voted 57-27 Monday night for legislation requiring all motorcycle riders in Louisiana to wear helmets.

With only a week left in the legislative session, however, the future of the measure by Rep. Clara Baudoin, is unclear.

Baudoin's bill goes next to the Senate, where it must make it through a committee and floor debate before next Monday's 6 p.m. deadline for adjournment.

Meanwhile, backers and opponents of the law were also pursuing a compromise that would allow adults who are 21 or older to ride without helmets if they complete approved motorcycle riding courses and obtain a motorcycle endorsement on their drivers' licenses.
